Bachelor's Admission Criteria

Please review the academic entry requirements and documents required for undergraduate programs at USTC before continuing.

BBA & English Language & Literature

BBA & ELL
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 separately in both SSC and HSC (or equivalent) OR
  • GPA 2.0 in either SSC or HSC and a total GPA of 6.0 OR
  • GPA 2.0 in SSC or HSC and a total GPA 5.0 (for offspring of freedom fighters) from any education board in Bangladesh.
  • O-Level: Minimum 5 subjects, A-Level: 2 major subjects, with minimum grades of 'B' in 4 subjects and 'C' in 3 subjects.

Electrical & Electronic Engineering

EEE
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 separately in both SSC and HSC (or equivalent) OR
  • GPA 2.0 in either SSC or HSC and a total GPA of 6.0 OR
  • GPA 2.0 in SSC or HSC and a total GPA 5.0 (for offspring of freedom fighters) from any education board in Bangladesh.
  • Physics and Mathematics must be subjects in HSC or equivalent examinations.
  • O-Level: Minimum 5 subjects, A-Level: 2 major subjects (Physics and Mathematics are mandatory) with minimum grades of 'B' in 4 subjects and 'C' in 3 subjects.

Computer Science & Engineering

CSE
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 separately in both SSC and HSC (or equivalent) OR
  • GPA 2.0 in either SSC or HSC and a total GPA of 6.0 OR
  • GPA 2.0 in SSC or HSC and a total GPA 5.0 (for offspring of freedom fighters) from any education board in Bangladesh.
  • Must have Physics and Mathematics with a minimum GPA of 3.0 each in HSC or equivalent examinations.
  • O-Level: Minimum 5 subjects, A-Level: 2 major subjects (Physics and Mathematics are mandatory) with minimum grades of 'B' in 4 subjects and 'C' in 3 subjects.

Bachelor of Technology

BTech
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 separately in both SSC and HSC (or equivalent) OR
  • GPA 2.0 in either SSC or HSC and a total GPA of 6.0 OR
  • GPA 2.0 in SSC or HSC and a total GPA 5.0 (for offspring of freedom fighters) from any education board in Bangladesh.
  • Must have Biology and Chemistry subjects in HSC or equivalent examinations.
  • O-Level: Minimum 5 subjects, A-Level: 2 major subjects with minimum grades of 'B' in 4 subjects and 'C' in 3 subjects.

Bachelor of Pharmacy

Pharmacy
  • Science group students must have a combined GPA of 8.0 (out of 10.0) in SSC and HSC, and at least 3.5 (out of 5.0) in each exam separately.
  • In HSC, a minimum GPA of 3.5 in Biology and Chemistry, and 3.0 in Physics is required.
  • A-Level: Minimum 'B' grade in Chemistry and Biology, and 'C' in Physics and Mathematics.

Required Documents

For Application

  • Copies of SSC & HSC Transcripts, Testimonials, and Certificates.
  • 2 passport-size recent photographs.
  • Copies of Student's and Guardian's NID or Birth Certificate.
  • Experience Certificate (if applicable).

For Admission

  • Bank Pay-Order in favor of USTC (from any bank).
  • Original SSC & HSC Transcripts, Testimonials, and Certificates.
  • 5 passport-size photos and 2 stamp-size photos.
  • Copy of Student's NID/Birth Certificate.
  • Copy of Guardian's NID.

Additional Information

  • Admission requires passing both the written MCQ and Viva examinations.
  • Two admission sessions are held each year: January and July.
  • Admission forms are available during regular office hours at the admission office.
  • Admission fees must be paid through a Bank Pay-Order made in favor of USTC.
  • On-campus accommodation is available for female students only.

Important Notes

  • You will be allowed to attend the admission test based on the information provided. If any deviation is found while submitting the documents, the admission may be canceled even after you are selected/passed the admission test.
  • You need a scanned copy of your recent passport-size photograph and signature for online application.
  • Please pay the application processing fee of Tk. 1000/- best before 7 days or within the deadline of online application and download the admit card.
  • USTC authority reserves the right to change the admission requirements at any time.
